Rolling Thunder
August 29th is approaching. It will soon be 2 years from when I lost my business to hurricane Katrina. I was at a tradeshow in Las Vegas at the time, buying for my store that would not be there upon my return, my house would be crushed, my car and my studio.
For the last 2 years I have rebuilt, and reinvented myself and my business and am about to go back to the same tradeshow in Vegas, this time as an exhibitor. For me it is a lot like going back to the scene of a crash after you've survived, this is going to be my chance to make Aug 29th my own. I will have come full circle. While the ravages of Katrina were not cancer, it has been life changing. I look for inspiration everywhere I can to help me keep going, because if something is worth doing, it's worth doing right. I've worked 16 hr days, nearly every day for the last 2 years to rebuild by house, studio, business and sanity since the storm and am proud to say I've come out on top.
If you need a pick me up, grab your headphones and watch this. When there is a hill to climb, don't waste time talking about how steep it is, or wondering what's on the other side, just take a deep breath and roll.
